Tummy Tub

Tummy Tub

In the Tummy Tub, your little one assumes the familiar fetal position. This helps your child relax completely while bathing. It feels like being back in the mother’s womb. The tub looks like a bucket, but it isn’t one. The Tummy Tub is narrower at the bottom than at the top.

How the Tummy Tub came to be

The Tummy Tub was invented by a young mother from the Netherlands, Anita Belderok. She knew that in the past, many mothers and nurses bathed babies in a bucket. Newborns seemed to feel very comfortable in this position. She was surprised that no official baby bathtub had ever been made in this shape. So, in collaboration with nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and other experts, she designed the Tummy Tub.

How to use the Tummy Tub

Use the scales on the side to measure the amount of water. How much water to add depends on your baby’s weight. Hold your child securely while bathing. You can use the Tummy Tub until your child is six months old.
